GRATITUDING...
PC: Self
Without going into the details, dos, don'ts, whys and hows of practising gratitude-journaling, I would want to focus my ideas on exploring the living-in-the-moment feelings of penning down the details of gratutude-journaling which I have named on a whim this very moment to 'Gratituding'. Definitely, I can not call myself an expert on the topic and neither do I think I can provide an encyclopaedic reference to it.
Introduced to me by a friend, this habit of writing down positive and happy moments has started to speak to me at a level I am beginning to understand.
So, basically let me borrow a few fleeting moments of your time to elaborate the aspects of positivity it ushers in. And, I am going to be referring this to as 'Gratutuding' throughout this monologue.
Focus:
Tried and tested, I find Gratituding has let me befriend the idea of focusing on minutest of details that give birth to those growing corners on lips called smile, in common language. You can see how I am describing the activity of smiling. Well, it is just an example to show how focusing can be beneficial in appreciating blessings even if little, which we otherwise take for granted. This is possible thanks to making ourselves accustomed to the idea of Gratituding.
Sweet and short, Gratituding has inculcated the aspect of keeping my focus alive .
Memory Boost:
As labyrinthine as life can get, we also tend to forget a lot of events, moments and memories that have played one or the other definitive part in our lives.
Writing my baby moments on a blank sheet ( ofcourse, not gonna overwrite on an already scribbled paper!) has taken some load off my 'back of the mind' memory. I have forgotten so many beautiful memories of my life that my 'back of the mind' started screaming for some damn space, imagine that!
Flex, muscles please:
I realized an eternity could have gone by had I not taken to Gratituding. Those few minutes I spent on Gratituding so far, tiny muscles/cartilages of my fingers have begun coming back to some life as opposed to the stiffness I experienced when they were making unstoppable errands scrolling a screen. I also have to admit to realizing that it will take some time for me to differentiate between alphabets until my writing skills are reincarnated.
Welcome aboard Gratituding!
