Chess - The Power of Check Mate...

Hop three squares and gallop, run diagonal, stomp ahead and march backwards, I don't think any other sport has these many features like Chess has.

What makes Chess unique is its ability to let you think about your moves while you have an aerial view to all of your own and your opponent's moves!

It is believed to have originated centuries ago and first named as Chaturanga, taking us to the land of diversity, India. It then spread to Persia, Russia and the rest of the world.

Below you will find Alex Gendler's link on historical reference to Chess:

What Happens In Chess:

Chess is a sport of one step at a time, mostly depending on what your opponent decides to do. The motive is to save the King who is by far the weakest and unfortunately, can only move one square box at a time. The King's army consists of front liners - the Pawns followed by two sets of the Rook, The Knight and the Bishop in the second line, one set on each side of the King. The Queen stands next to the King and can move as many squares in any direction as she wants, provided the moves are in one straight way.

What Is Great About Chess:

Chess is a sport of pure mindfulness, good judgement and analyzing an impending problem staring at your face.

It entails analysis at every move you and your opponent makes. You survive the battle if you have the ability to think of consequences before you make a move and what your opponent might decide to do.

Why Is Chess a Mind Treasure:

Like no sport activity is futile and actually instills qualities like team work, sportsmanship, agility; Chess works wonders at the level of thinking ability and brain functioning.

Chess lets you get into the habit of making better decisions preceded by a thoughtful analysis of a situation. It has the ability to make your brain talk to you whether or not to take a step and how and when to get going.

Who Should Learn Chess:

Quite honestly, no kind of work or no kind of play has any kind of limitation. Anyone can learn anything, absolutely anytime.

Introducing Chess to kids imbibes remarkable habits and steers them toward facing challenges with a spirit of confidence and better self-awareness.

Opening The Game:

Quite a lot of time, the outcome of the game rests on the opening move.

It is  like a stepping stone.

When I play it online or with a friend, I mostly start the game with the Knight.

Sometimes I take a plunge at the opponent by moving the middle Pawn two steps forward followed by moving the Queen, as a move to make a direct attack😬. I can not vouch for whether it would win you your opponent's kingdom but I enjoy playing it this way.

What do you think of this strategy and how do you start the game?
